i've never gone on the cal jobs site and i've been on UE for over a year. i used to only put like 5 or so jobs on the form, but then i got clued in to what mopuddin was saying and stopped listing people.

They didn't mark any checkboxes. It says CalJobs registration is required and the exact words "You must look for full time work each week" while refrening the handbook.

The handbook says that if you answer yes to the "did you look for work" question then you have to list the jobs you applied at.

That is the only information they gave.

on the claim form, there is a box next to some shit about having to provide references if checked. if checked provide reference. if not, ignore.

That's what I'm saying. She didn't get that list with the check boxes. When I was on UE that's what I got. This time it's a sheet of paper with the approval and the one line about looking for full time work that references the handbook.

It kind of sounds like they don't really give a shit as long as you check the box that says you looked for work since they plainly state it's a machine that reads the form and cuts the check anyway.

I found what your talking about with the X. I misread it and thought it means something else :tard:

It's not marked so she doesn't have to provide any references. The only requirement is putting a resume on CalJobs.

Shits tight.

The total amoumu of the benefit oy covers a little over six months. Did you work part time to make the benfits last a year or did you somehow get them to give you more money?

This says the benefits are approved for a year but if you divide the maximum benefit by the amount of the weekly benfit payments it will run out in 6.5 months. Were you out of money and were given more money when they extended yours or did you not exhaust the whole benefit?

i just got my notice that my appeals board decision is to deny benefits Sad

apparently, i can hold out for a fourth appeal though! this time it would be in court. i'm thinking about filing the paperwork for it just to make them do the work. at this point getting paid back the money would be nice but since i'm finally working i don't need it as much. but i still think it's bogus that i was denied. so i guess i will now continue out of spite.

PostSubject: Re: Unemployment Question   March 25th 2009, 12:39 am

Now I'm totally confused.

Sarah was approved and already got the first claim form and now she got a letter saying she has a telephone interview scheduled and that they can't pay any benefits until after the interview. Now she is worried because on the back it has a list of questions they can ask and one of them says "were you warned that your actions could result in being fired?".

Since she was on a warning that eventually led to being fired she thinks they may not give her benefits.

I don't think this is true.

Any advice?

edit: looking at the dates on the letter the phone interview letter was sent one day before and the approval letter was sent the day after. wtf?

edit2: From what I'm reading it looks like it may be non-issue as the EDD should only deny benefits if the firing was due to gross misconduct but I'm not really sure.

i don't think the warning in that message is the same sense of the word as the one in the question, the latter being a guard against people hoping to get fired.

PostSubject: Re: Unemployment Question   December 23rd 2009, 12:10 am

I had a phone interview this morning because i sent my claim in a few weeks late. They want proof that i'm looking for work now on each claim so I was draggin my ass. They don't really give me shit so I wasn't really concerned about sending it in late. The thing that sucked is they didn't send me a check for a month but sent me letter saying I needed an interview to review if I deserve UE compensation and the soonest they could do an interview was a month later (today).

So over 2 months with no checks and it fucking hurts.

So here was my interview this morning...

UEA: Hello, why did you send your claim in late?

Me: I misplaced it.

UEA: OK, you will be getting your check and new claim in the mail soon.

Me: OK, Thanks.

yeah, but it'll take over a month to catch up, getting 2 week checks at a time only as fast as they can send them to me and i can send back in the claims.
