i'm sad that college basketball season is over. Sad
this year's tournament was awesome. i am however looking forward to my fantasy baseball seasons and to going to some games. i'm going to a padre game in may, which is sweet, since last year i never made it to any games at petco.

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/dailypitch/post/2010/04/umpire-pace-of-yankees-red-sox-games-pathetic-and-embarrssing/1

"This is embarrassing, a disgrace to baseball."

Baseball fans expect endless, drawn-out games between the Yankees and Red Sox. Umpire Joe West has had enough.

"It's pathetic and embarrassing," West told The Record of Hackensack, N.J., Wednesday "They take too long to play."

Hackensack, N.J. is one of my most favorite U.S. city names.

i'm all for speeding up the game and it IS the umpires job to keep things moving. i really started to notice the bullshit when Nomar G. came into the league with his pre-bat routine before he stepped into the batters box each time. you see more an more of that shit and it makes me happy when i see the ump tell the guys to cut out the bullshit. same goes with pitchers also.

im starting to pick up on some of dick enberg's attitude. as he's getting more comfortable he doesn't hold back on his opinions and i like that. i would like him to be more of a homer though. maybe after he gets used to the team he'll come around.

Enberg and Grant don't seem to have any chemistry because when Enberg says stuff like, "My wife came out to the game yesterday and thought David Eckstein was a young rookie," Grant is afraid to say, "I'm sure to her everyone seems like a young rookie."

Enberg does better with Tony Gwynn because when Enberg tells long and boring stories about Tony Kubek and Yogi Berra Gwynn can politely pretend to care.
